Family affair: Jennifer Ellison feels guilty about leaving her son and husband for long periods due to work

Dancing On Ice star Jennifer Ellison is not only battling her fear of falling over on the ITV1 show. She is also fighting against the guilt she feels for 'deserting' her two-year-old son. Jennifer, 28, has been training for three months for the show which has meant she has been unable to spend as much time as she would like with her child.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'He’s too young to understand that I have to go to work and earn a living. 'That’s when I feel the guilt.' Her husband, who is former boxer Robbie Tickle, has been taking care of Bobby and Jennifer fears that she will now lose her weekends to the show as the competition steps up.

Father and son: Baby Bobby has been spending more time with Rob Tickle since Jennifer has been away

Due to her work commitments with the play Calendar Girls, she was on tour for eight weeks and had to juggle her day job with the first two months of training.
She told the newspaper: 'Because I was moving around, I had a different coach at a different ice rink each week. I was also doing eight stage shows a week and still trying to be a mum.
'Some days, I would travel four hours to an ice rink, then go home, kiss Bobby and then go off to do Calendar Girls.'

Training time: Jennifer and her Dancing On Ice partner Dan Whiston have grown close to each other

The Scouser has been feeling increasingly lonely and guilty due to the large amount of time she spends away from her family and also worries about her safety more now she is a mother.
She told the newspaper: 'I haven’t got any insurance and I’ve got a young son to look after. I think to myself, ‘This is a show. You’ve got to keep things in perspective – and first and foremost I’m a mum, so I’ve got to take care of myself and not do anything too stupid.’
She added: 'I’d love to attempt harder jumps and things but I keep thinking, ‘Don’t fall!’.'

Mum's the word: Jennifer has been juggling her day job with the skating show and baby Bobby

Jennifer has not had an easy start to Dancing On Ice and almost quit the show after her skating partner, Dan Whiston, hurt his hamstring after an awful fall.
The former glamour model has insisted that she is not in the show to win and only wants to have fun.
She claims that she would drop out if Dan was unable to skate with her because they have grown so close together.
She said: 'People may think I am being dramatic. But it’s too late in the day to skate with a new partner.'

Happy days: The whole family get to spend some rare time together despite Jennifer's hectic schedule
