Third time lucky: Jason Trawick is said to have proposed to girlfriend Britney Spears in Las Vegas last night
She gave him a motorcycle for his birthday and now Jason Trawick has reciprocated with an even bigger gift: a diamond ring.
The Hollywood agent asked for the pop star's hand in marriage in Los Angeles yesterday on his 40th birthday.
'Yes, we are engaged,' Trawick told Access Hollywood today.
Thrilled: The pop star posted this message on her Twitter page this morning
He is said to have presented her with a Neil Lane featuring a round three carat stone that features pave diamonds on the band.
'It's very traditional,' an insider tells Us Weekly. 'He picked out something he knew she would love.'
'He surprised her after she gave him his gifts and after they had cake last night,' another source adds.
The 30-year-old singer, who has just wrapped her Femme Fatale tour, hinted at the news this morning on her Twitter page.
Preparing to pop the question: The agent was spotted yesterday, his 40th birthday, just before he reportedly got down on bended knee
'OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for,' she tweeted.
She then teased: 'Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited! Xxo.'
Sources told TMZ that her conservators gave marriage their stamp of approval.
He also did right by her father, Jamie Spears, by asking for his daughter's hand in marriage.
They will put a pre-nup into effect before they tie the knot, according to sources.
Britney first started Trawick in early 2009 following her tumultuous relationship with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.
She says she 'made the first move' on Trawick, who was her then her agent. He stepped down from that role in May this year.

Father figure: Britney says her young sons Jayden James and Sean Preston 'adore' Jason
'We're really normal,' Britney said of their relationship in March.
'We just like to watch movies. We work out a lot. We love to work out. We do stuff together like that. We take walks.'
He is also a father figure to her two sons, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5.
'Jason is just amazing with the boys,' she has said.
Mixing business and pleasure: The singer cast Jason to be her leading man in the video for her new single, Criminal
'They look up to him so much - they adore him. He's their hero.'
This will be Britney's third marriage.
She wed childhood friend Jason Alexander, a childhood pal from her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, in January 2004.
The star, who was 22 at the time, filed annulment papers just 55 hours later.
Mixing business with pleasure: The pair first began dating in 2009 when he was working as her agent
Six months later she became engaged to her backup dancer, Kevin Federline.
They wed in a surprise ceremony at a private home in Studio City, California, in 2004.
They went on to have two children together before officially divorcing in 2008.
Britney's love life has always been colourful - as a teenager she famously dated fellow former Mouseketeer and 'N Sync band member Justin Timberlake.
The pair split in March 2002 after a three-year romance that had fans and tabloids in a frenzy.
After they parted ways, Timberlake made reference to the pop star in the video clip to his hit, Cry Me a River.
'First love': Britney with Justin Timberlake in 2001
The clip featured a Britney look-alike and the storyline fuelled rumours that she had cheated on him.
"[The breakup] was horrible,' Britney told People magazine.
'Very upsetting and it took a lot out of me. He was my first real love, and I doubt I'll ever be able to love anyone like that ever again.
'But I'd rather spend two days with my soulmate than the rest of my life with some guy who doesn't mean as much.'
